Musical Talent

Long awaited but on time…

by Thought Provoken on November 27, 2009

While in Tallahassee, I had the opportunity to do an interview with a friend of mine from MBA school.  I spoke to C.H.R.Y.S. aka Carlos Ferragamo about his musical influences, his outlook on the hip-hop industry, and current projects.  Unlike many of the mainstream or pre-mainstream artists, Carlos took a look at the musical industry from 32,000 feet.  He analyzed the pitfalls, the required sacrifices, and the components that made the multi-billion dollar industry tick.  In addition to his pre-game approach to marketing his work, he decided to get his MBA, just to make sure he would have no excuse but to succeed.

His work ethic and raw talent has not gone without recognition.  He has received many accolades from magazines such as The SOURCE, and is currently fielding multiple offers from major labels.  Ask him what makes him tick and you will be surprised to see that he’s not unlike most artists… except for one thing, he has a new view on the role of the emcee and the importance of maintaining creative independence by any means necessary.

We’ve included one of our favorite tracks titles “Things Change” and a link to his Myspace page.
