Atlanta

This morning, right before I transitioned from the dream to real world, spirit told me to take a trip to Stone Mountain. For those who have not had the opportunity to go, Stone Mountain is literally a large stone on the outskirts of Atlanta that features a hiking trail and many family attraction. I’m a huge fan of the outdoors and was elated to follow through with the instructions given to me.

The hike itself is quite challenging. You are walking up sheer rock at angles reaching nearly 60 degrees. On the way up, you see people from all walks of life seeking to summit, focused on keeping a steady pace. Along the way, you pass breathtaking overlooks and openings through the trees that remind you of how high you are actually going.

Many take breaks in between to chat with friends and absorb the beauty of the landscape. Because I was alone, I found myself more absorbed in the moment… Appreciating the moment and being a witness to the challenge as it unfolded. As I came closer and closer to the summit, my mind began to race and I suddenly got the urge to take out my notebook and write.

The Creator works in interesting ways (if you listen and LET things unfold like a dream). I held the thoughts in my mind that needed to escape onto the paper and made my last push for the top. As I reached the top, I slowly turned to witness the fruit of my labor.

The view itself was inexplicable… (Luckily I had my camera to share the view). It was as if the trees were playing a classical ballad that can only be understood through the visual cortex. As my eyes panned over autumns expression of greens, yellows, reds, and browns, I came to a sacred realization. The mountain that I and many others scaled had a very important role to play. Like a wise father teaching his children the facts of life, each participant was afforded the ability to witness (in unison and almost omnipresent view) the city and forest below. We were all from different walks of life… Japanese, Indian, Italian, African, and everywhere between, but the irony lies in the fact that we were all looking at the same thing.
Think back to the last conflict that you had. Often times conflict in our lives comes from our (or the other persons) inability to understand the others perspective. Ironically, we may be both looking at the issue from the same mindset but from a different perspective.

Think about how many wars are waged, and lives are lost due to different perspectives. But the bottom line is that we are all human beings, with the same needs, fears and dreams. On top of that mountain, we became living visions of how life should be. Observing the whole picture from the eyes of God with 100 percent understanding that life is more than the individual, it’s the collective, the expression, the darkness, the light… but in the end, it is all GOD.

Enjoy the VIEW :)
